Christofle Silver Cutlery

Since its founding in 1830, the exclusive House of Christofle has cultivated its unique technique, modernizing its expertise and execution to stay ahead of the ever changing industry. Whether they are creations by designers or artists, re-editions and historic reproductions or custom commissions, exceptional pieces by Christofle are made in its fine silver workshop, which has been integrated into the company's manufacturing facility in France.

In 1851, King Louis Philippe’s successor, Emperor Napoleon III, ordered all the official silver from Christofle. Thereafter acknowledged as Silversmith to the King and Purveyor to the Emperor, orders came flooding in from the Emperor of Mexico and the Tsar of Russia. The company also decorated Pope Pius IX’s pontifical train carriage and created statues on the roof of the Opéra de Paris. Today, with workshops based in Yainville, Normandy, Christofle silver can be found in the Palais de l’Elysée as well as palaces and fine dining establishments all over the world.
