Havens has stocked the Maxwell and Williams china range almost since they started in the UK in 2003.
Maxwell and Williams is an Australian tableware brand started in 1995. The UK distributor was Michael Stein of Valerie Graham Ltd. Michael and his team have built up the Maxwell and Williams range to one of the most recognized value ranges in the UK. The product is mostly designed in house and made in good quality Chinese factories.
In March 2018 Maxwell and Williams decided for Worldwide commercial reasons ( nothing to do with Michael and his team’s commitment and service to the brand) to change the UK distribution to Creative Tops. Needless to say this has not gone as smoothly as we would all like with some supply issues on some core product.
Fundamentally the new distributor has taken on the stock of Maxwell and Williams and is having to order from China some of the key ranges that were not pre ordered by Valerie Graham.
Lead times can be up to 6 months and some of the best selling White Basics porcelain plates and bowls and Cashmere White Bone China items have been affected the hardest.
In particular the Cashmere Dinner plates which are not due until the beginning of November!
We are still taking orders and leaving on back order – we do not draw down any advance payment until the goods are in ready for despatch.
My instinct is once we get over this hiatus supply will return to excellent levels again.
