Monday 22nd July 2013 will go down in history as the day that His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge the Third Heir to the Throne was born – not everyday a future King is born!
The waiting is over as hordes of media crews from across the globe flocked around the Lindo Wing of St Mary’s hospital Paddington awaiting news of the imminent birth of the first child of William and Kate the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
As well as the media, the fine china and crystal factories producing the Royal Baby commemorative gifts and collectables have also been waiting in anticipation not just of the birth but also of the name which came a day or so later.
Pre production samples and designs which have been in hand for months had to be officially signed off by Palace staff and clearly the final detail for inscriptions could only be finalised once the naming announcement had been made.
The factories are now in full production playing catch up on the demand that has already been created by the media frenzy and the swell of public interest.
The usual corner stone of Royal Collectable suppliers have created exquisite pieces for the Royal Baby celebrations including Royal Worcester China, Royal Crown Derby China, Dartington Crystal, William Edwards, Aynsley China, Caithness Paperweights and Moorcroft Pottery.
There is Royal Baby product to suit all tastes and budgets Tankards, Loving Cups, Plates and a Royal Crown Derby Prince George bear who is particularly cute – limited to just a 1000 pieces so will sell out quickly.
This is your chance to buy a piece of history, a memento of this historic Royal event and what is more the bulk of our collectables are all designed by British designs and either entirely made or decorated in Great Britain.
