On a recent trip to Germany, David Cameron presented the German Chancellor Angela Merkel with a Denby Halo tea set. It would not have been easy for the Prime Minister to select something that is British made these days, but thankfully Denby is still making high quality pottery tableware at it’s factory in Derby.
Mr Cameron visited the German Chancellor at Schloss Meseberg, a country retreat used to entertain the world’s good and great.
I understand that on a recent visit to the UK Angela Merkel presented David Cameron with some German china, I suspect either from Villeroy and Boch or Thomas China or Rosenthal, sounds a little like “what ever you can do we can do better!”
Anyway hopefully the tea tasted civil and touchy, challenging negotiations on Europe were productive – we all need these leaders to pull Europe through this crisis and return to some kind of stability that is required to make consumers spend again.
