Thomas Medaillon Thin Gold Band China – Last Chance to Buy!

We have just been advised by Thomas China of their intention to withdraw and discontinue the Thomas 2mm Thin Gold band china tableware. This will take affect from the 1st of January 2013 so order your requirements now to avoid disappointment.

The Medaillon Platinum band is unaffected and ongoing, as is the plain White Medallion range.

The Medaillon Gold is not as strong a seller as the Platinum band but none the less I am surprised that the Gold is being discontinued. It is fair to say that silver currently sells better generally than gold bands but this trend can change and for my money there are few better contemporary china patterns with gold decoration available. Time will tell.

We currently have reasonable stocks but as soon as we mail our data base of collectors I suspect that it will vanish quickly.

  2. Please can you advise if it may be possible to obtain 2 Thomas medallion- Thin Gold Band Dinner plates size 26cms .
Thank you in anticipation , from Jeanette Sait

    1. I am afraid that we do not have any 26cm Gold Band or 28cm dinner plates left. I have checked with the factory and they do not have any left either.
We do stock the plain white plates which would match if required.
      Kind regards,

  3. Dear Nigel

Would you be interested in my significant collection of thin gold band Thomas? This is currently packed and I don’t have an exhaustive inventory, but I would say that it comprises approximately 8 settings plus coffee and tea cups plus some open and covered serving dishes. Thanks. Rob

    1. Dear Rob,
We do not trade in the secondary markets but I will post on our blog and any interested parties can then contact you directly.
      Kind regards,

  4. hello,

i understand that the Thomas Medallion thin gold line is now discontinued. i would very much like to complete my dinner service, and would be interested in purchasing gently used items if new were not available. i have been able to locate most items on line but, am not able to find dinner plates. i would be interested in purchasing up to 3 or 4 plates. ( I am replacing plates that were broken last Christmas).

I really appreciate any assistance you can provide me with to this end.

    Thank you,

    Liane Blakeley

    1. Dear Liane,
Yes Thomas Medaillon Gold band was discontinued at the beginning of 2013, pity, we sold it quite well but not as well as the Platinum or the Plain White ranges.
We do still have some Gold lines left. Just let me know if there is anything else you require.
I have checked with the factory and there are no dinner plates of either size 27 or 25cm left.
If you have no luck then clearly either the White Medaillion or the Platinum Medaillon would be an ok compromise.

  6. Hi, is the Thomas Medaillon gold band safe for dishwasher use or microwave. Found a place setting for 12 persons (just missing two saucers and two small dessert bowls). Paid about $200 US for the whole set, including coffee pot, sugar and creamer, and all
