Top Selling London 2012 Olympic Gift Collectables and Gifts

We have been promoting and selling London 2012 Olympic Games gifts and collectables for over a year now. In truth the sales started slowly, customers probably preoccupied by other issues and financial demands.

More recently leading up to, during and since the Games sales have rocketed and we are struggling, a bit, to keep the stock coming in to satisfy all the orders.

Two of our suppliers were granted licences to sell and market the Olympic product at quite some financial commitment to them: Dartington Crystal and the Wedgwood Group (WWRD) which incorporates Wedgwood China, Doulton China, Waterford Crystal and Johnson Brothers.

So here are our  best selling, most popular London 2012 Olympic collectable gifts:

  1. Wedgwood 2012 London Skyline Plate £35: represents really good value for a quality bone china plate, 10 inches in diameter, same size as a dinner plate. In fact I thought it was such good value I must have checked a dozen times that we are selling it at the correct price! There is also a matching Olympic Mug £25 which has also been a great seller.
  2. Johnson Brothers Brights Union Jack Mug in Dark Blue £5 : Johnson Brothers are the entry level company of the WWRD Group. Quality is excellent and the price is even better. There are 4 different coloured mugs the Dark Blue is proving to be the most popular as it more accurately mirrors the Team GB kit.
  3. Dartington Glass Skyline London Bowl £50 : The London skyline featuring some of the Capital’s most iconic buildings has been a popular subject for Olympic memorabilia. This engraved bowl also features the London Games logo too. Between you and I we have supplied a decent quantity to one of the Olympic Team GB squads to give to each of their Olympians. The vase £40, votive £25 and decanter £99 have also been popular in this range.
  4. Royal Doulton China Historic Olympic Poster Coasters £20 : Featuring promotional posters for past Olympic games from 1896 through to 2008 I have been surprised by the sales of this nostalgic reflection on past Games. I guess my thinking was that the present would be of greater interest but this set of 4 Coasters along with the mugs in the Historic range have proven an unexpected best seller.
  5. Johnsons Infill Olympic Infill Mug £5:  when the Olympic Logo was first introduced I was very sceptical about the design, like many others I suspect. Little did I think then that we would be selling hundreds of mugs featuring it. In bold red, white and blue this china mug has won me over, or is it the sales it has generated!!
  6. Dartington Glass Union Flag Logo Highball Tumblers £10: A set of 4 frosted tall Slim Jim highball tumblers also featuring the Olympic logo – again proving me wrong. In fact the whole glass range of beer tankards, tumblers, shot glasses – which are completely sold out have surpassed my expectations – what do I know!

Finally and though they have  not been best sellers in volume terms, I think they have real style and will look good in any home.

The Wedgwood Basalt Black Olympic Figurines. The Olympic Torch Bearer Figure £200 and The Olympian Figure £350

Wedgwood Basalt Black Olympian Figures

We have sold them as a pair and individually, the Torch Bearer just shading the popularity contest.

So there you have it. Now please be aware that once stock is sold out here and at the factories they will not be making more, so if you want your slice of Olympic memorabilia to remind you of what is generally regarded throughout the world as the Greatest Olympic Games, now is your final chance.
