Since Edinburgh Crystal went into administration with the Waterford Wedgwood Group in 2009 we have been inundated with requests for Edinburgh Crystal Tay glasses.
Tay was the best selling, in terms of volume, glass that Edinburgh Crystal sourced and supplied from quality European factories and in the early days there was some speculation that Waterford, who owned the Edinburgh brand, would continue to supply the Tay range. Sadly, in their wisdom, WWRD as they are now known decided to consign the Edinburgh Crystal brand to history.
Royal Scot Crystal sensing an opportunity relaunched their Highland glassware which was first designed in 1998. Whilst the shape of the bowl on the Wine glasses is different the cutting is very similar and as near as we have been able to get from any crystal supplier.
Already we are finding customers who collected the Edinburgh Tay glass range are happy to sit the Highland glasses along side it.
