Well what a night!
On Friday May 20th at a packed Cliffs Pavilion in Southend-on-sea all the Finalists gathered for the presentation of the 2011 Essex Countywide Business Awards.
There were 14 cataegories covering all aspects of Business in the Essex area from Environmental Awareness, Business Innovation and culminating in Business Woman and Man of the Year.
What all the finalists displayed was best practice in their particular field along with an ability to display proactive, innovative business ideas, each category was well represented and hotly contested.
The judges had an unenviable task trying to select winners as each business was so different making comparisons so difficult.
Havens were truly grateful to have been nominated as a finalist, so when Paul and I were called to the stage to receive the 2011 large Retailer in Essex Award we were absolutely thrilled and delighted, not least as the awards evening was compered by the beautiful Natasha Kaplinski!
The Essex County Retailer Award is recognition of all the hard work that our Retail, Website and Corporate Teams have put in during the last few challenging and turbulent years. During these years Havens have made many changes to adapt to how the consumer behaves and the Havens website is at the forefront of this ensuring that in group turnover terms we will enjoy our best ever year.
As well as our Loyal and hard working staff we would like to thank the organisers Evening Echo Standard Recorder Group, the overall sponsor Toni Govey of the Lords Golf and Country Club, the judges and in particular the Sponsor of the Retail category South East Mobility, Nik and Darren spent a great deal of time visiting and assessing all the very worthy finalists and then had to make that very challenging yet for us rewarding decision.
