New Owner for Hummel Figurines

February 10th 2009.
We are just hearing news that there is a new owner for the M.I. Hummel Figurine range.
Formerly produced by Goebel who are in the German equivalent of Administration, at their factory in Rodental Germany.
The new buyer is Manufaktur Rodental GmbH and there are plans to reopen the old factory and restart production with 30 employees.

Royal Worcester Spode in administration

On Wednesday November the 5th Royal Worcester and Spode went into receivership after failing to secure further loan arrangements.
The failure to finalise the sale of the strategically placed Spode factory site in the middle of Stoke is cited as the straw that broke the camels back.
Founded in 1751 and with a Royal Warrant, the Group employs 388 employees.

Waterford Wedgwood in administration

On Monday the 5th of January 2009 Waterford Wedgwood Group went into administration under a huge debt pile of over £400 Million.
The group employs around 5800 people world wide with 1900 in the UK – 600 at Wedgwood in Barlaston  Stoke on Trent, 800 at Waterford Ireland and 170 in their Shops.
