A year has passed since The Waterford Wedgwood went into Administration. The Group incorporates a number of the most famous brands in the China and Glass Industry.
Late February 2009 an American Private equity company KPS bought the brand names but alas not the factories which in the Crystal division are all now closed. The principal Brands involved are Waterford Crystal, Jasper Conran Crystal, John Rocha Crystal, Edinburgh Crystal, Stuart Crystal and Thomas Webb.
Retailers of these products have had no communication at all from the Management of the company. Their loyal Sales team have been mostly made redundant both at the factories and on the road and there is a complete lack of coherent information available.
I did manage to get some information from my Sales representative Lindsay Bowe before she was made redundant just before Christmas, on the ranges that should be going forward next year. I am now receiving conflicting information particularly in regard to Edinburgh Crystal.
What Retailers and their customers really require is positive leadership of the Waterford Crystal Brands, information on what Product and Brands are to go forward and what is to be discontinued. The lack of any meaningful communication from the Management team does not fill anyone with confidence and is disrespectful to all partners and customers.
If they are unable to make the decisions I know a number of past workers and existing customers that can easily resolve the situation. Please sort it out and stop the continuing decline of these great brands.
