The Dartington Dimple Tumblers range was designed by Frank Thrower in 1967 when the Dartington factory first started in Devon, England. Dimple is one of Frank Throwers iconic designs and is as popular today as it was over 40 years ago.
In manufacture the molten glass is hand gathered and then blown into moulds to form the tumbler. As with all hand making processes there will be sizing tolerances which normally in the case of the Dimple range affects the depth of the base and the dimple. We pair glasses here to ensure that they match as near as feasible. These almost imperceptible variances are signs that each Crystal tumbler is hand crafted.
The luxurious weight of these handmade Dartington crystal tumblers and the tactile dimple base make every drink a true pleasure. Suitable for fruit juice and short drinks
The Dartington Dimple Old Fashioned Tumbler glasses are boxed in pairs in Dartington Crystal Glass branded gift boxes.
Customer Reviews
Perfect size and weight for whiskey, my husband was very pleased with them!
Glasses are of a good value but unfortunately not as advertised, ie. The glasses pictured are of a dark or smoky colouring, with an almost black colur at the base. The glasses I received are completely clear; not as advertised. I spoke with a lady from Haven and she was pleasant and more than willing to refund/exchange the item, and she also explained it was the manufacturers image used on Haven's website. These are a chistmas present, so I will wait for a reaction before deciding to return.

Reply by Nigel Havens:
Dear Stephen,
I have just picked up your review.
I am sorry that you feel that the images of the glasses is not clear. I accept that there is a smokey relief on the images which does tend to occur when photographing Crystal items. Glass is a very challenging medium to image.
This is the first time that this specific image issue has been raised and we do make every effort to improve images supplied by the factories and we will look at cleansing these this year.
I am afraid none of our existing suppliers or factories produce smoked glass. Naturally if the recipient is not entirely happy please feel free to return the glasses to us for a refund.
Kind regards,
Nigel Havens
